At the THS Performance Academy we love being able to explore and maximise the potential of our performers. We love to help develop the artistic skills and artistic processes of talented creatives with a learning disability in a fast paced, fun and exciting environment. Our focus is on getting excellent young artists to be able to develop their own platforms for success and smash the ceiling within the ever shifting arts industry.

We believe in nurturing talent and opening doors to possibilities in the creative arts that may have felt inaccessible. We offer a wide range of dynamic workshops which enables growth through collaborating with like minded creatives to help our performers hone their skills, work towards their dreams and reach their full potentials. For example, musicians will work in groups and not only develop their musicality, but will build relationships and learn what it's like to become an outstanding performer.

The THS Performance Academy was founded in 2025 as part of Tang Hall SMART which is a creative arts organisation based in York that for the last decade has been at the forefront of delivering creative arts classes and courses for young people with an EHCP, adults who have struggled with mental health and adults with learning disabilities.
